Scientist Training Programme

At the MSc level, the Scientist Training Programme, or STP, provides postgraduate training over the course of three years of work-based training. The first year of training occurs in a variety of different settings before students specialise in their chosen area.

Within the STP, the following areas are covered:

  1. Infection sciences

  2. Blood sciences

  3. Medical physics

  4. Cellular sciences

  5. Cardiac, critical care, vascular, respiratory and sleep sciences

  6. Gastrointestinal physiology and urodynamic sciences

  7. Genetics

  8. Reconstructive science

  9. Clinical pharmaceutical science

  10. Clinical bioinformatics

  11. Neurosensory sciences

  12. Clinical engineering
